Do you need help with minor jobs or repairs around your home?
If the answer is 'yes' and you are an older person (over 65) living within in the Keighley  District, why not take advantage of our Helping Hands handy-persons scheme?

The scheme is a charitable project run by Keighley & District Volunteer Centre. It provides clients with a friendly and reliable way of getting those little DIY jobs done at a very low cost.
Your wellbeing is our concern, that's why we provide advice on safety issues.
Staying safe plays a big part in keeping independent in your own home. That's why we also provide friendly advice and information to help minimise  accidents in the home. We can also signpost you to other services that may be of benefit to you.

When a helping hand isn't quite enough...
Some jobs are of course too big for the Helping Hands scheme to undertake. In these instances we will support you to select a competent trader from the Keighley 'Approved Traders' Register.
Here are some of the jobs that Helping Hands can do for you
Fitting locks, spy holes, chains etc. on doors and windows.
Painting exterior doors and windows below first floor level.
Minor joinery works e.g. shaving doors etc.
Fitting key safes.
Minor re-pointing work (low level).
Fitting/repairing kitchen cupboards/units.
Minor repairs to uneven steps, stairs or paving.
Hanging curtain rails and curtains.
Fitting safety devices (smoke detectors, smoke alarms etc).
Changing plugs and light bulbs.
Moving furniture around the home (bringing beds downstairs etc)
